on the very odd ocasion i havent got someone to do my shopping for me i goto supermarket after midnight its normally empty and you can get your shopping done in 10 minutes and they rarely have anyone on the counter so you can walk out without paying

The problem with home delivery, is they substitute items that they do actually have in stock. It's just they have overstocked on similar items that they are trying to shift.
Happens all the time with baked goods.

Also, I like to go into the supermarket to select what fruit and veg look nicest.

When I was a bachelor living off Irn Bru and micro-meals, home delivery every time.

I buy supermarket vouchers through work which give me 5% off my shopping and home delivery doesn't take them, so it's the shop for me.

As a whole i don't ever go to the supermarket i just cant stand the places (although i do go at Xmas) but why would any one want to spend a coupe of hours including driving shopping packing parking loading unloading car is beyond me when they all deliver straight to yr door all for £5 Ive said I'm only to happy to pay the £5 just DONT ask me to go!!

The thing about having the food delivered is that you cant see, touch or smell it. I've had this service once and don't think I'd go there again. Half the shopping was missing or substituted for other products. I dont particularly like shopping unless its a deli with loads of yummy stuff I dont need to cook.

I dont know why it takes you a couple of hours to do the shopping? Most folk have a supermarket less than 10 minutes away from them and if you time it right its bish bosh, in and out with the essentials including some lovely flowers for your partner:)  For the amount of time you spent moaning about it you could have navigated at least 3 isles and had a half full trolley....

I decided this year to never set foot in a supermarket. I can get all the food I need at the local shops, just a few hundred yards walk down the road. I guess I pay a bit more generally, although the local green grocer & butcher are usually cheaper & of better quality. Service I've found is of a higher standard. Forget the corporate giants, keep it local.

Tank and Mad have it spot on.

Used to shop at Tesco's - got too expensive, so switched to Asda. But this meant STILL having to go to Tesco for fruit and veg as Asda'a isnt that fresh.

Yesterday we ventured into Morrissons - 12 mile drive but worth it.

Its like Tesco's quality but with even cheaper prices than Asda!

I went to the local greengrocer last week. The service might have been of a higher standard if I had wanted them to **** me up the ****
£3.50 for seven medium sized vine tomatoes.
