diy query for you and your many readers

I'm redoing my bathroom and have got to the stage of putting down 10mm backing boards. There is still slight creaking from the floorboards - will this be an issue with the tiles or will the tile/adhesive combo for a solid platform that will take any slight movement as one.

I would imagine you need a flexible adhesive & grout Dave, but I'm no expert.

You can get it combined.

I'm great at tiling BTW, I can do over 4 an hour.

I've got a big bag of flexible, which is lying beside the big bag of non-flexible.  I finished all the backing boarding and am trying to find one straightish wall to start the tiling.

It's rare to have a run of tiles that fill the space exactly so you have to cut some. Measure or lay them out first so that you are not finishing with a tiny strip if tile. If that is the case cut both ends so that you get like, almost half a tile each end instead.

yes I'm trying to minimise cutting, but there will be a decent bit required, I'm mainly considering the claims to straightness of the shuttering around the bath and the wall opposite - the gap between them is 78cm and one end and 76cm at the other, so while they might each be straight, they aren't parallel.  I think using the wall side will look better, as going into the room all the tiles will look parallel, although cutting holes for the radiator pipes with full tiles rather than part tiles is a poss issue.

So I was going to take a photo of my decided starting line of tiles, but I left my phone in a bay at the golf range (there is an app that tells you how you are striking the ball, that you put in a holder and it connects to sensors on the range). Hope someone handed it in.

Well that's crap.

I put this message on my lock screen, it's saved my bacon twice.

Think they need a month of that to end the drought. Those ppl seemed to be quite unconcerned about water and so many electrical devices about. Is the electricity in the US different from here?

Circuit breakers are very safe, you could confidently sit in the bath and chuck the toaster in with you, it would just trip the leccy.

Did you get your phone back?

yeah but it was in an office that was locked, so I hit about 150 golf balls waiting for the manager to turn up.  My back didn't appreciate that when I was bending down to do the tiling later in the day.  Angry   But on the bright side I've found the secret to striking the ball (again).

I find the "secret" 10 - 20 times a year on the golf range.  Unfortunately these "secrets" never seem to work on an actual golf course......
