She inched towards it in fight or flight mode, (no pun intended) senses questing forward, every muscle tense.

I was out with Ronnie once when a hot air balloon landed very close by.

Ronnie, being slightly less hard than he looks chose the flight mode.

After a long search I eventually found him hiding behind a tree. Thanks for sticking by me when the aliens landed mate!!!

I heard this was one of the reasons that the police prefer GSD's to Rotties for police dogs.

Although obviously similar in stature and intimidation capabilities they just can't get a rottie to jump through a flaming hoola hoop.

Can't say I blame them really.

Any chance you'd teach Tony how to use his camera next time he calls for a visit?  He's very nearly got it, so shouldn't tale long.

Of course.

BTW- I also do a basic typing course. That doesn't tale long either.

I was out and about early this morning, and it was one of those, bright, dew-laden, "It's going to be hot, but it isn't yet" affairs that light the world in such a way as to make you stare agog.

On mornings like these, my problems seem to fall away from me like the shedding of an old skin. I emerge revitalised and carefree, just glad to be a part of it all.

I saw a holly bush festooned with spider webs, and I tried to take a picture, but I know it wont come out right. you just have to be there.

As I was looking at the holly bush, a song popped into my head. it was one that my dad used to sing under his breath on mornings like this.

I've got me ten fine toes to wiggle in the sand.
Lots of idle fingers snap to my command.
A lively pair of heels that kick to beat the band.
Contemplatin' nature can be fascinatin'.
Add to these a nose that I can thumb,
And a mouth by gum have I,
To tell the whole darn world if you don't happen to like it deal me out,
Thankyou kindly Pass Me By

Chorus: Pass Me By-y, Pass Me By-y-y.
If you don't happen to like it Pass Me By.

I've got me two great shoes that never saw a shine.
Trousers I can hold up with a laundry line.
A lovely patch that hides an awful lot of spine.
Shirt-tails flyin', I'm a bloomin' dandelion!
Add to these a grin from ear to ear,
And all the proper gear have I,
To tell the whole darn world if you don't like the assortment deal me out,
Thankyou kindly Pass Me By

Chorus: Pass Me By-y, Pass Me By-y-y.
If you don't happen to like it Pass Me By.

I've had a tough week. I moved a shed, which caused an avalanche of work, all of it physical. i.e. lifting, digging pulling etc. (I broke up a 5 ton concrete slab with a hammer that weighs more than I do)

Today was one of the hardest, (Silly O'clock til "come in now, it's dark") but it was also one of the most satisfying.

It's given me a bit of an appetite though.....
