I have been a member of Blonde Poker from the very beginning, and although I generally do not post my views I am an avid reader everyday.
To be honest I am totally disappointed, and in a couple of cases disgusted at the treatment given out to Mick McCool.

For those who do not know Mick, He is a shortish, chubby, ginger headed irish chap who like most from the emerald isle has a great sense of humour. I have read the first comment he made about the updates on the GUKPT in Brighton and to be quite honest I fell about laughing as I found it quite funny, actually very funny. I sat next to him in a cash game at DTD last night and he brought the table to life with his joviality. I cannot beleive that the comments he made about the updates were "personal" in a vindictive way.

I have also read some of the comments made by "Chilli" regarding Mr McCool. The  word "vile" in my opinion should be reserved for the likes of Ian Huntley, Peter Tobin etc, "despicable" for the likes of those who prey on the old or weak. Mr McCool DOES NOT deserve to be treated this way.

There have been comments made by members who have never laid there eyes on "Micky", one being "drunken rants". I would just like to state that I have never seen "Micky" drunk and certainly never seen him abuse anybody verbally.

Maria, you know me. I am the guy who always smiles, says hello, sits down and plays poker the only way i Know, like Roulette, get busted out, shakes everybody's hand and say "Good Luck" . I am surprised by your comments and quite frankly think there must be some personal dislike between the two of you. Maybe there is some personal "history" between yourselves but the Blonde Poker forum is not the place to use some of the words you have written.

I beleive and apology should be made.

Definition: "FORUM" a meeting or medium for an exchange of views.

In my opinion there are members on this forum "the chosen ones" who can basically say what they want without the "unbiased" moderators jumping in, and yet there are members who in my opinion, and yes it is only my opinion that get crucufied every time they post.

Finally, all of the great work put in by the Updaters was undone by members just slagging off Mick.

I thoroughly enjoy the updates especially when I am unable to attend the tournaments, but am becoming increasingly concerned regarding the content and "style" in which some of the topics are written.

To quote Mick:

"Maria they would certainly be better than your attempts! As a matter of fact l could probably go to the local graveyard, dig up a couple of corpse's, give then a laptop and a Vodafone Dongle, with an SAS assault course to cover to get to the press room from the cardroom and they would be better updates than the ones you have been involved in."

To be quite honest after being called "vile" and "gruesome" on a public forum I could think of quite a few words Micky could have used. The quote about the graveyard and the corpses again I found quite funny.

The problem I have about all this negative posting is that if "Micky " had called Chilli "vile" or "gruesome" he would have been stringed up by the nearest tree by now.

Pretty personal and vindictive if you ask me.

Why are you really here?  Has Mick decided his rant wasn't so slick after all?  Is he sorry he chose to take the route he took when requesting his account be closed?  If so, perhaps he is the one who owes an apology.  If not, than I can't see the point in dragging this up again.

Laxie,

Why am i here ?

I am obviously stupid. I thought this was a forum to express my "own" views.

...which seem to be that other people posting their 'own' views of Mick's rants is somehow out of order. Especially when they've been singled out by name.

An inconsistent position, to say the least.

Not stopping you.  Don't have that power.  Also don't agree with your views and have as much right to say so.

If you are invited to dinner and your host spends hours in the kitchen preparing a 5 course meal, is it comical to say, 'That was the most rubbish meal I've ever eaten.  Don't know why I bothered coming over.'?

For many here, Blonde is like a second family.  You can't honestly expect us to find it humorous when one of the family has been openly slammed while doing endless hours of hard work updating for us?  Constructive criticism is fine.  Suggestions for improvement, even better.  His posts achieved neither of these.

You found it funny.  Many did not.  I just don't see the point of fanning the flame when the fire has already gone out.

AndrewT,

I wouldn't call "as slow as a tractor on the M25 in rush hour" a "rant". As far as I am concerned he made an "off the cuff" comment, a "glib" remark at worse. To be called vile and gruesome is a bit strong.

Mick, sorry to see that you have decided to reiterate that you found Mick McCool's comments on saturday night "very funny" and not "vile" or "personal" in any way, and that you are in fact seeking an apology for him!!

Let me get this straight, Mick can out of the blue, completely slate the hard work of the updaters but expect no comments or come back from other posters that want to defend the updaters?  That includes myself, who as an updater in the past felt a good candidate to express how hard the updaters sometimes have a tough job made harder by external circumstances.

Instead my reply to Mick gets an out and out "vile" "personal" and "gruesome" attack on my skills as an updater.  Frankly I had every right to reply as I saw fit in that instance as anyone would. Those were the words I chose to use in that moment and were harsh but fair IMO. Its funny that you stated:

I am surprised by your comments and quite frankly think there must be some personal dislike between the two of you. Maybe there is some personal "history" between yourselves but the Blonde Poker forum is not the place to use some of the words you have written.

I'm personally not aware of any "history" from my perspective but who knows from what perspective he is coming from.  So you admit yourself the personal nature of which his attack was aimed.  This is not the first time Mick that McCool has personally attacked people in a nasty and unfair nature.  A while back he did a personal attack on Lucy Rokach and then banned himself from the forum only to come back and start posting once more.

Finally, all of the great work put in by the Updaters was undone by members just slagging off Mick.

The great work of the updaters was not undone by members "slagging" off Mick, rather than belittled by McCool's slating of their work.

I really didn't feel I needed to respond to this post, never mind make an apology but I have replied to what I think is right to stress.

Regards

Maria
