First issue
satellite seats are transferable as long as players sort money about between themselves and inform
virgi
n
of change of name.
If this is a general policy as opposed to one for just your Blonde satellite I think it's disappointing as it undermines the concept of everyone winning their seat at the event. It also raises the spectre of someone with no intention of going playing on behalf of other people, possibly winning a seat for a weaker player at the expense of a stronger player they knock out.
And it almost legitimises the actions of a player who won their seat in the weekly final last weekend and who last night won a seat to next Sunday's weekly final using the same account and publically stated they were playing to win a seat for their wife. I was told by
virgi
n
that anyone who wins a second seat will have to forfeit it, but after hearing that seats are transferrable beween players I'm not sure I believe that now.
They might just as well allow people to buy-in directly.

If someone who has won a seat cannot play, then the ONLY alternative should be cash.
Clearly states that you can only enter this comp by winning a satelite.

I agree, the same player has made 2 attempts to gain entry to the tourney other than winning the seat. I don't blame the guy for trying but its not really on is it?
Also whilst Rich entered the comp with the very best of intentions but its a bit gutting when he knocks you out & you know he can't play the fessie.

In the terms and conditions for the first Virgin Festival it essentially stated that there was no alternative to a seat and if you couldn't make it then it would be awarded to the next person down in the satellite (there was a lot more detail, but that's what it boiled down to).
But it also had the normal clauses saying the organisers could change the rules whenever they wanted, and I believe there were some flexible decisions made.
I've decided against trying to get into this one so I haven't looked at the T&C's this time, but I would have thought they'd be similar.

have to agree, all seems a bit ridiculous, why have sat only entry when people can effectively just buy in anyway.
I'm off to win a seat now, it will be on ebay from sunday

All I can find on Virgin site :
"How can players qualify?
Upon announcement every Virgin Poker Festival will be heavily promoted on virginpoker.com and in the Virgin poker room.
All players must qualify online
. Virgin runs direct satellites for the main event and satellites for a seat at the regular online Festival Finals to make the event as inclusive as possible."

For anybody who was wondering a seat was awarded to 8th(Morlspin) but not 9th(Me).
Figure that one out!
"Shall we go with the Terms displayed in the TOURNAMENT INFO box or the ones in the PRIZE STRUCTURE tab?"
"I know let's go somewhere in between."
