Hi Guys n Gals,

I played a tourny monday night, buy in £50... 7,500 starting stack, 30 minute clock, we had been playing 1 and a half hours and 6 people have been knocked out of a field of 62 (5 have all come from the same table and one bloke is sitting with nearly 30k in chips) and its looking to be a long one... Not much action going on pre flop and alot of folding when you see a raise... etc... which is really unusual for a monday... usually really open and laggy but oh well

Anyway... I have pocket 2's... In the big blind, one limper and the sb calls... I raise it to 800 (blinds are 200/400) and both players call...

When the 2 hits the flop with an A and ten on board....

What would you do to extract value... with everyone being so tight... also being the 2nd person to speak doesnt help with position in my eyes

a couple of thngs. How many chips have you got left? (I am assuming at least 10k)

Don't minimum raise..ever..it is evil.

I would have checked it but you could have raised it to 1200-1600 total (I prefer 1200 out of those two options) Any flop scares you (other than the one you got)so you want to take it pre-flop if you lead out..a raise to 800 will never do that when the blinds are 200-400.

The 2 hits. now the pot is 2400. I bet out around 1800-2k (I prefer 1800 as it's below the magic "OH MY GOD IT'S 2000 WHAT A HEAVY BET" mark) in the hope someone pushes all in. If they don't have the ace they won't give you any action anyways so might as well bet out and hope they do.

Ok well to help people (I have 9,700 chips) at this point...

Small blind bets out, 1200.... I re raise him to 3200... and the limper folds...

Small blind calls... with 5,200 left behind... me with 6,500 behind...

Turn Comes 6... with the pot at 8,800...

Now what!

move-in no point being tricky should of done it on the flop you may well be behind pkt 10's looks like it could be out on that flop the way you played it you got to stick it in now   pre-flop IF you pop it to around 1200-1400 that way a pair has to either re-raise or pass he isnt flat calling now if he has A 10 you played it perfect tho lol

I check my option preflop, i play a lot tighter oop. Min raising only serves to build the pot as you are bound to be called in both spots.

As played i would actually just flat the lead from the sb, the board looks dry and im happy to slowplay here. This is something i rarely do but this looks a nice spot to do it, given the action and stack sizes. Im hoping the limper comes along for the ride or even better tries to squeeze. Also hoping sb is going to lead the turn again pot committing himself.

Now what? Sb is first to act i need to know what he does? But we are getting it in here hopefully, if he checks i stick it in. If puts it all in, I insta call, Hellmuth style.

check pre-flop

how often will min raising be worth your while here? hardly ever

on flop call

as played: on turn if he leads shove, if he checks shove

Ok this is where he said the stupidist line I have ever heard in poker when a table is like this

"be polite and check it out, but then again I dont put you on an ace?"

And then pushes all in?

Obviously I call... and had run into Kings, but the river was blank so i took down the pot...

I have another hand to post up when I get the pictures lol
