Which is a more likely site in your house.

Scenario A...

I never, never ever, drink while I play. Drinking and staying focussed just don't mix. (Anyone who says they play better when drinking 8 or 9 cans can have a seat at my table Smiley

It is important where you sit.

It has to be comfortable with very few distractions around.
I wouldn't put the telly on. Also pick the right sort of music when you play, it needs to keep you ina  good mood and maybe a bit hyped p but not too much.

Playing well is all about being comfortable and in the right frame of mind. Telly and booze will never get you there.

I sit at my desk, corner of the living room, and ussually have the same CD's in the CD player for a bit of background music.

or,

Scenario B..

Boldie clicking away on a few tables at 4am, blinking 100 times a minute, sipping Grolsch with a bit of Voetbalvrouwen in the background?

You can tell the truth, Boldie's probably won't read this as he's not on the forum much.

Man you had to do some serious digging to find that post. I am sure the Mrs will answer it tomorrow.

Interesting question....

Given that scenario one was penned a month before we started dating - It could be assumed that both scenarios are correct.  However, Mr Boldie can't handle his drink!  A sniff of grolsch sends him off into a rant about everything that's wrong in the world today and why normal day to day things drive him up the wall (oh, sorry, that's sober Boldie).

Seriously though, he rarely drinks before or during poker.  I would say never but he did have a few at BB5 whilst playing Omaha - this went some way to proving his point as for a couple of hours I had been told that he was going to make a fortune (Kev, Ginger and Action Man can back me up on this one as we were having a "yellow" conversation at the time  which was interrupted by my rather drunken husband explaining how good he was at Omaha and how it would pay for our trip....) After around 3 hours and however many beers he had too many, he broke even!

The truth would be that he listens to whatever I have on TV, cooks my dinner, does the dishes, cleans the house, chats to me and fits in a few hands of poker in-between (sadly, that's pretty accurate).

Does that answer your question?
