most of the time i see this play, im up against a monster. can i possibly fold here?

hand history wont load so will have to type it

9 players

seat 1 posts sb   $0.50
seat 2 posts bb   $1
seat 3 folds
seat 4 calls  ($110)        $1
seat 5 folds
seat 6 calls          $1
seat 7 folds
seat 8 folds
seat 9 (me) ($98) raises to $5 ( )

seat 4 calls          $4
seat 6 folds

flop           seat 4 checks, i bet $8, seat 4 calls

turn                   seat 4 checks, i bet $21, seat 4 raises to $42

my experience in 0.50/1 is that this type of a play is a monster hand, usually a set

can i make a fold here, or are we insta all in??

Tricky proposition this. Real problem is its only 44 or 99, which they inevitably table when you call this. Fullringneedthenutstocallminreraiseaments. Like to know the full ring players responses.

Low with alex here and all i have to say is lol fullringaments.

If you were playing 6 max I would snap push and do a victory dance when i get called a4,a5 and even ax.

I think you have to hate it and shove it. It does look like a full-ring nit with a set, but unless you really really know your opponent, and know he never does this with worse than top two, I don't think you can fold. For one thing, you're ahead of all sorts of genuine hands, and hey you've got 4 outs against a set of fours... For another, although you obviously need stronger hands at showdown in full ring as opposed to 6max, you don't want to get into the mindset where you just think you're going to get shown the nuts every time - you'll miss out on loads of value and make yourself easily exploitable by the more observant players, of which there are enough even at this level.

Stats on villain would be interesting - worth knowing whether he's an 8/4 nit or some guy who doesn't know how to use the slider bar so just clicked the raise button...

Unlucky anyway lol.

lol lee. i guess my info is not great cos only played 2 orbits and this is first hand ive played (apart from the blinds). so in essence, i have no real read on the individual or any stats, only on the betting pattern. but yes, he could have A4 i suppose

u playing at casino tonight?

I'd shove against an unknown. A4s/A5s are quite likely.

If you have stats, and his VP$IP is pretty low then you have more of a decision.

folsing here if you have no info is a sure sign you need to pick a different game.

All I hear lately is people yack on about full ring nits and that that's why you should always fold a decent hand. I can not believe that is the best way to play. Not everybody playing full ring is a nit who waits untill he hits his set before he bets. If you don't call here if you have no info on the player you should stop playing poker..honest..you should.

Hi mate. I wasn't harsh on you..I was commenting on all those posting in the threads saying that in a full ring game you keep having to fold decent hands and that everyone in them is a nit.
I think you make a good call here move often than not.
