Last night i was told i made a "stupid call" after some very good early play??....however i feel i made the right choice at the time, and would be interested in any feedback good or bad, thanks guys...

Tourney was a mighty £10 FO
We are n ow after the break and im sat Three off the Button with the blinds at 500/1000...
i only have 10k in chips ( starting amount ).....
i havent played many hands in a while and am starting to worry that the blinds are coming and im gonna lose any equity i have...
i look down to see
i flat call £1k....
Everyone folds except for the three to my right.....
(SB is chip leader and BB is Shortstack )..
Flop comes down...
First to act leads straight out with 5K.....second pushes all in...8.7K....i felt this was a good opportunity to try and triple up as i new the chip leader was calling no matter what...so i pushed all in...10k....and a fold...
First to act calls both bets down....
BB Shows    three diamonds
SB Shows
turn is
River was  ....
So i obv lost here but i felt with high blinds coming and chips low was i gonna get a better time to triple thgru if i hit im well in?....any thoughts?....thanks guys...SnipeR...

I would fold this pre.  Limping here off a 10bb stack with 78s is like giving away chips.

On the flop i would also fold.

I hate the limp pre, but im not totally unhappy with the flop gamble, given its a £10 tourn, you have the chance to almost triple, and aswell as your oesd, you also have a bfd.

Not the best play pre-flop or post flop...

You have two options pr-eflop Push all in or.... fold

Flat calling is asking for trouble and just wasting valuable Ammo.... of which you have little.

If you had made either of the above moves then you would have no decision to make post flop...

The decision you made post flop is really a "Hail Mary" play as in ....more hope than expectation....sorry

I hope this helps to get you on the right track..

Admittedly the pre flop limp was lame, but i was in fear of losing my chips to the blinds as i was card dead...and i wanted to take a stab at a cheap pot with any half decent cards in the hope of making the flop....once the flop has come down.....my question pertains to the fact "Do you think i will get a better opportunity to treble up than this"Huh?....reasoning on the assumption that the range of hands they must have is gonna be low, i know if i hit im well ahead...it was a gamble i know......i was told i shud have waited for ace/king scenario and waited for push...however i feel sometimes spesh as this a low grade tourney its worth taking a risk or should u play ur game the same and regardless of what tourny ur in?...i am thank full for all feedback as i feel that it all helps...

Assuming you have 8 outs, 10's & 5's, I dont think calling is the worst play here against 2 players... Look at your pre-flop play, thats the real debate here...

Fold preflop, shoving all in is better than limping here imo.

On the flop getting it in here can never be bad, we likely have around 40% equity in this pot which is more than enough. With our 8 straight out, some runner runner, flush and 2 pair outs.

With this hand more often than not you'll miss completely and you will lose your chips even faster than to the blinds, here you are happy to commit on a "good flop" for ur hand which has left u 8 high. Doesn't matter if you are card dead if you are pushing at least you have fold equity, no excuse to limp with 10bbs whatsoever imo. Mind you you're in great shape against 75.
