Wow what a country..................it's so great, I've extended my visit for another week (cmimng home tues)So i'm able to see the Mardi gras parade in Sydney.
I've had a great month here, with Lucy, who'se itching to get off up the coast.
If I was young again, i'd be out here like a shot.............it's so easy going, but all things must end and unfortunatly i'm on my way back to the uk on mon eve, get into LHR Tues AM.

I managed to get a bit of poker in at the God awful Star city casino, in My new adopted city of Sydney..............if they let casinos get like this in the uk i'll shot myself, it's a pit of unequal odds, whare half the population of china or hong kong or any other far east city, are happy to accept being milked by a succession of seemingly uncontrolled betting propesistions.
As an example the old friend of the loser "THE BIG WHEEL"and, rows on rows of slots< it"s all overwhelming

I"LL write a poker report on my return, but as a teaser, i'll just say that the $80 buyin NLHE table, charges $5 per hr, and then Takes 10% yes 10% from each pot (to $8 max), and most pots hit that upper limit..............no ALL pots hit the upper limit.

I don't know how i came out ahead..............but lets say the play was em,imaginitlve on the whole table to say the least, arethe chinise expecting the end of the world any time soon, and not wanting to burden their trip into the next world, with anything as gross as currency I wonder.
Anyway, more to cone.
The sun's out it's lunchtime, I'm off for some rays.

See ya.

LOL i've played tht game aswell $1/2 $80 min+max buyin!  The rake is killer, but ppl are so terrible there (reminds me of rounders with matt damon pwning the tourists) that its beatable anyway.

have a safe trip back.

I played cash games in Sydney and the table charges were horrendous. I thought I was up against a load of donkeys when everyone was all in preflop with 22 and KJ but I soon learnt they were just trying to make a profit before the rake caught up with them.

However, the crown casino in  melbourne is the best card room outside of the US I know of. Cash games are well organised, plentyful and the rake is reasonable.
