Pre flop should've folded or reraised to $5 ish to find out where you are. You now have no idea if you're folding best or worst hand and its cost more to find out than by reraising pre flop

i would play this more passively, if he has a wide range then AT beats it so raise or call whatever, I don't like donking the flop, what do you do if he raises? I like to check and call and catch his bluffs. but I am a full ring nit and that is how I roll imo. i think i will answer every PHA post with "big hand big pot, small hand small pot (especially out of position)" for the next 3 or 4 days Smiley

If his liberably raising the button as he appears to be i would 3bet at some point but not with this hand. Playing a 3bet pot oop with a weakish ace is not the best. So i would wait for some 87s or a premium then 3bet. Making your 3bet about $3 is fine.

I think calling preflop is fine here but im not looking to play a massive pot so i like byron go into check call mode, let an agressive player bluff at you. You are signalling your hand to him but he doesn't seem to care as I played i dump it in on the turn.

Once you have called the turn, the river changes little and you really should call the river imo.

Agree with the above. I'd say the preflop call is fine, but you have to think about what you want to achieve by betting out on the flop. You're letting him fold worse hands and get loads of value out of his better hands. This sort of donkbet is useful if you've got a big hand (or are representing one because you've actually got nothing) - if you'd flopped top two pair here then it would have worked nicely against an aggressive player like this and you'd have ended up winning a big pot.

agreed...not calling the river is very very bad after calling his turn re-raise.
