Just been felted in the Stars 20k. Down to 180 with the blinds at 150/300.

Shoved caught 2 pair and upto 1000. Then proceeded to keep doubling through with a variety of cr*p and good hands/good calls. Was on 10.5 k (just dropped a bet)...so about average stack...

Got me to thinking...am I the only person to take perverse enjoyment out of short stack play?

I have managed to come back from similar on FT to take 2nd the other week. Previously (against admittedly US forces) I've come back from really low stacks to win MTTs.

Am I sick for enjoying the challenge/buzz of these comebacks???

Short-stack is the new big-stack.

I'm actually coming round to the idea of playing cash short-stacked.  It's definitely interesting...

I used to be great at shortstack play...and then I found out that it was only because I was a nit.

so much more fun if you're a bit of an action junkey as you get to play any 2. no need for starting hand selection, just shove any unopened pot and there's also the perverse pleasure gained from tilting the CL when you crack his AA

I'd say most of my best MTT results have come after being very short at some point in the tournament.  I cashed in a STT the other day after being down to 20 chips, all in on my small blind at 20/40 with 6 players left   Was actually chip leader at one point 3 handed

I love being short stacked.. I don't feel the pressure for some reason

On the old Tribeca mtt's I played a $6 speed, within 3 hands I had 30 chips yet finished 2nd

On the old $54 rebuy on a sunday night, I was 82/82 on the bubble, yet finished in the top 20. Admittedly got a huge chuck of luck at one stage just into the money, when I pushed all in with J10 for about 8.3k chips, he'd raised pre to 8k ( on 2k/4k blinds) and he folded which was hilarious.. next hand got dealt rockets and tripped up!

The best thing about being shortstacked is that its hard to make mistakes and very easy to play if you know what you are doing.
You only have to make one decision, to push or not to push.
Other players have a harder time of it, do I call? do I isolate? what if someone behind me has a better hand? is he pushing with a pair?
