Poignant due to the mmr thread

My youngest who is autistic,(thomas) aged 10 1/2

For the 1st time in his life he picked a book from the bookshelf (harry potter) sat at the table cut a piece of paper to make a book marker and started to read the book, now thomas' reading ability is at about a 4 year olds stage. When i asked him if he could read he replied yes in my head, yawned then said can i go to bed to read my book.

I have little cards that I carry in my pocket for when my daughter kicks off in public.

It reads "Sorry if my daughters behaviour has upset you today, shes autistic and she can not control her reactions. Whats your excuse??"
