I'm having some issues at the mo with what is the optimum strategy for rebuy MTT's... Instant double up? Play tight, play fast? Thoughts anyone and everyone please...

play opposite to the table if the table is loose play tight
if its tight then play loose
once you gather some chips aslong as the table is passive preflop invest in hitting flops
as you know once you hit your going to get paid

Play fairly tight.
Decide on how many rebuys you are allowing yourself before you start. Maybe with one contingency if you think your still good to cash for more than your buy-ins.
I'll play it pretty much like a freezout as I don't want to get stuck for too many rebuys. I'll get busy with specific players that I notice to be going crazy, and use the rebuys for when they sting me.

Immediate re-buy. You always take this...it's the law (in my opinion). You also always take the add-on. (unless you have 100x the average)
Everything else is rather situational...the above two are golden rules in my opinion though.

I take the immediate rebuy obv, then play fairly tight, although i do like to limp with low PPairs & Suited connectors etc, But mainly waiting for spots to get my money in good pre to double/treble up.
Then as Boldedge says, you should always take the add-on too.

take the rebuy str8 away, play like a maniac and be prepared to take 7/8 rb's look to get it in with JT QK 78ss in order to accumilate a stack for the freezout period. This will also build up your image for the freezout stage in which your big hands will get paid.

yeah I'm all in first hand and will always show unless it's a good hand, usually push the first 2 or 3 hands and then if I do pick up a monster I always get paid off.

QFT Also if it's on, say stars, and i know if i bust on the last hand of the re-buy period and i can double re-buy + add-on to get a 5k stack at 75-150, i'm always willing to gamble in the last 10 minutes if my stack is under 7k as the chance to double to c.14k (with add-on) is worth the risk of losing a c.7k stack and starting f/o with 5k IMO.

Rebuy first hand. Play like a nit. Top up at the end of the level.

Rebuy mediately.
Add on probably not worth it. (it's 10 bb or less)

Play the rebuys on UB, take an instant double rebuy for an extra 3k chips and then a double add-on at the break. Do not play a hand between these points. You'll start the freezeout period with around 10.5k chips and 50/100 blinds.
