Them 451/3 dec
Me 40/2

Again a team I thought I would beat - my first run out with my best 11 - all sublime.
Realisation that I am to be relegated - bugger.

Slow-to-steady progress after a scary first few overs which saw my best two batsmen get out.

Lead by 29 runs. (Barts Sabres 191-10)

Tzaneen*   43 (94 balls)
Cable   31 (105 balls)
Last Wicket: Cohen c. Littler b. Holt 4 (FOW: 139/3)

Not looking good.  I'm going to need a very good batting performance in the second innings to salvage something from the game

Lead by 121 runs. (KBOTW 196-10)
Capp 17-2-75-0

I won (as expected), but happy to see a player pick up a 5for, and my trainee get 2 caught and bowleds. Looks like he'll be a useful squad player until he's good enough to make the starting XI!

He generally bats to 400 before declaring so I have a chance of sneaking another bowling point and then I will probably need my batsmen to make 300+ to be able to save the match.

End of Over 101 (4 runs). Murphys Mongrels : 369-5, runrate=3.65
Lead by 173 runs. (KBOTW 196-10)
Cranie 20-2-73-2
Jaco* 92 (145 balls)
Khan 1 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Payton b. Cranie 8 (FOW: 365/5)

The players are off the field for tea.

End of Over 107 (3 runs). Gorseybrigg old boys: 371-5, runrate=3.47
Lead by 180 runs. (Barts Sabres 191-10)
Lancashire   24-7-80-1
Tzaneen*   124 (186 balls)
Parkinson   40 (67 balls)
Last Wicket: Leacock c. Denvers b. Leacock 1 (FOW: 285/5)

Due to declare at 405, so hopefully can avoid losing another wicket. Cracking stuff from Tzaneen, very happy!

UPDATE: they are 83-6 in their second innings. TOP OF THE LEAGUE AGAIN!!!

Two day innings victory against a recently gone bot opponent!

Frustratingly, even this early on, I know I'm going to finish 5th in this league and get relegated as top 4 are so much stronger!

Still at least I should be able to keep morale at reasonable level courtesy of the other three.
