Of course, there is the exception that proves every rule, and that exception is Table Levi/Norinder/Testud.

Nicolas Levi raises in early position, and Micke Norinder calls. Levi eyes him up. "I have the distinct feeling that you like me," he says. "I do like you, man," says Micke, but neither of them seem to want to get more involved than that at this stage. Paul Testud also calls, and so does Bjorn Agertved.

Flop -

Nicolas bets 1200. Micke, probably because he likes him, calls. Paul Testud gets out of the way. Now Agertved dwells, boringly. Oh no, think I, it's going to be like every other hand I've watched, where everyone dwells for ages and nothing at all happens at the end of it. Then Agertved goes all in for 6325 total. Oh ok, think I, everyone's going to fold now. Now Nicolas Levi goes all in too, for loads!

Now Nicolas' new friend Micke lets out this kind of weird guttural groany scream like probably the sound that Vikings used to make when they were just about to rape or pillage. "WUUEEOOOOOEEUUUUUURRRRRR! That was my move!" says he. He thinks about it quite seriously for a moment, but gets out of the way.

Levi - obviously, what with that early position raise and everything
Agertved -

Turn - Two Diamonds
River -

Agertved is OUT. So there you go. Who'd've thunk it.

It's just like Dana described today.  It's not that nothing is happening, because things are happening, but they're happening slowly and calmly with the minimum of fuss.  I must admit that from a playing perspective this collection of players here today is a wonder of quietly confident aggression, a tough and gentlemanly-behaved field which is producing some interesting hands and big stacks.  But from a blogging perspective, the total lack of loud Americans/drunk people/Tony G (busted) kind of leaves our early blind levels a bit thin for reporting.  I mean, we don't really want people to stand up and shout and call each other donkeys and provide a running megalomaniacal commentary a la Hellmuth, but maybe just for levels 1 through 3, during patches of slowness.  And not to imply that all North Americans have that kind of streak - playing today are Mike McDonald, Dustin Mele (apparently both in some kind of Team Pokerstars Sponsored Guest type thing) and Sasha Rosewood (pictured) all from the other side of the sea, and all just as delightfully low-key as their Scandie brethren.

I am aware that this would have been a better photo with some judicious cropping, but the expression of shock-horror on the face of the guy on the right was too amusing to waste.

Roy Brindley, pictured here somewhat depressed after sinking to just 4k at the break, might be in a better mood now having doubled up with on a Q-J-xxx board against Pascal Perrault's A-Q.  As it was he said it was a good thing I was taking his picture as he might be out any minute etc. etc. before describing the last fifteen minutes of play before the break as 'torture.'

Oh, sorry - Marc just told us that his brief resurgence in chips is over and he's now OUT - Ski-outfitted Rolf Slotboom his assassin, mainly.

IN that case maybe he forgot to unplug the butler. I know he would have remembered to deflate the "other" though for sure! hehe

Actually they're on dinner break right now!  But we couldn't tell you because we were in the Special Surprise Betfair Press Conference in which we discovered the secret identity of their new sponsored player....

... OK it's Sorel Mizzi who is joining Annette on the road.  They are good friends and now each have a travel buddy, plus we learned that they've both bought houses from all their poker money.  They are really very sensible and articulate, which you might not guess from their LAG online personae.  Anyway, we found that there was both food AND beer in the conference room which made the whole thing much more interesting.  Now they get to play heads up and generally practise taunting one another, it looks like.

Oh, and zangbezan means 'call me' like on the phone, and he picked it as one alias because it sounds cool and is also relevant, sort of.

Did they promise him a year's supply of jellybeans or something?
