The one that always made me laugh was Georgio Kinkladze. I'm a Man City fan through and through, but the fact that he was lauded as world class used to make me howl! he had bloody good feet, great dribbler and passer, but that was it.

However he has still part of one of my favourite memories, skipping through the Southampton team ( defence isn't what they had at the time) and then proceeding to make Dave Beasant look a total fool.

u mean theres more?

trying not to. I haven't got as far as the lower leagues yet

p.s Ade Akinbiyi £5.5m transfer fee.

lowest moment of my football supporting life

He might have been crap, but at least he tried. Unlike most of the players wearing Leicester shirts on Saturday.

As we used to say at Norwich when he was a youngster that his 4th touch is getting better, there was no fans sniggering more in the background than Norwich fans when someone paid 5.5m for him.

Currently, David Beckham.  Oh, over-rated - thought it said over-paid.

this has turned in to the stevie gerrard thread lol.

as a neutral, i think fabregas is currently better than gerrard. however neither will be proven either way til the have played in a decent team in a decent league.

Fabregas was scintilating in the first half of the season but has dropped off since. When he's older and has the physical strength/stamina to play like he did through an entire season I will agree but not right now.

If any centre midfielders in a like for like position are better than Gerrard then they play for Barcelona.

Ray Clemence. How Shilton had to play alternate international games with him during the 70s perplexed me as a child and still does now

Geoff Hurst. One good game, not fit to lace Greaves' boots over a career. Still makes a living out of that one game too.

Denis Wise. Awful lumpy footballer surrounded by a lot of talent (Zola, Gullit, Vialli etc) that made him look better than he was

Roberto Carlos. Bullet of a left foot, defensively awful

Most players who have been through Newcastle in the last 5 years  eg Boumsong, Viana, Alan Smith etc

Freddy Adu. One of the great all time talking horses

Tony Dorigo. Played in class teams that masked his deficiencies

Deco....Takes playacting to a whole new level at the same time as being one of the most over-rated footballers of all time.

Ronaldo. Inter stood by the so and so for years while he dealt with his numerous "injuries" (funny how he couldn't play an entire game for Inter and then lasted through 7 games with Brazil in the World Cup) and he thanked them by forcing a transfer to Madrid after the World Cup. He is a spoiled and selfish brat.

The amazing Gaizka Mendieta, who has the awesome power of making his talent disappear when stepping on Italian soil.

that will do for starters

Quality, quality post.

Most overrated striker in world football today is Imrahimovic. I think MO'N summed it up at the last Euro Championship.
