My Dad tells me he could win that - had his leg broken at Kilmarnock, sold to Montrose, turns up at the club on crutches, got a cash in hand signing on fee & an invite to the club's Xmas do the next night. Asked to dray the raffle at the do draws his own ticket and wins a telly, then is sold to Dumbarton before the cast is off his leg

a few harsh ones there tighty but one that sticks out a imo is the worst chelsea signing ever cos i sat through all 40 games:
9 Robert Fleck, Norwich to Chelsea, £2.1m, August 1992
The Scottish striker was a cult hero at Carrow Road but a carthorse at Stamford Bridge, where he scored five times in 40 league appearances.
wow, how bad was he. Maybe they didnt know how to spell at Carrow road. Im not standing for this Robert Fleck was a childhood hero, there was no better person at winding up the opposition fans or taking the longest to get subbed when we were winning. He was a decent player at Norwich. The truth is though it sounds stupid now, Norwich were a better team with better players in the late 80's, early 90's than Chelsea and maybe that was part of his failure at Chelesa. lmao I remember watching Norwich in their UEFA cup run (I've a rude story to go wiith the away game in Munich) - and at the time, yep I think they were. Them were the glory days, I was too young to go to the away games in Europe. I saw all the home games in Europe that season, its good as it will be probably get for a provinical club like ourselves. We were in genuine contention for the league the year before as well, 8 points clear just before christmas.

Impressive list Tighty but you fail to mention perhaps the biggest clanger ever:
Ali Dia
Bought by Graeme Souness at Southampton on the strength that he was George Weah's cousin (he was not!)
LOL ChipRich bought a Saints shirt with Ali Dia on the back as he was so sure he would be a massive success!

He is a multi millionaire through playing football. I find this amazing. Worst signing for my team was Rebrov and Dean Richards who I think is still the most expensive player never to play for him country.
