Playing three 6 man cash tables just now on Blonde and on the same table I was dealt AA in three consecutive hands.

I make that a 10,793,861/1 chance, Is that right?

The sad thing was I stacked the shorty for 80 bucks in the first hand and they all passed the next two hands, so in total I won just over 90 bucks. bah humbug!!

At the start of the first hand you are 220/1 to get dealt AA, same in the 2nd hand and the third.

The probability of being dealt pocket aces is 1/221, so you have to use (1/221) x (1/221) x (1/221) to get a combined probability of (1/10793861), or 10793860-1.

However, that figure also represents the chances of getting dealt aces on precisely the next three hands, not of it happening ever.  In order to get dealt pocket aces back-to-back, you have to begin by getting them the first time - and this will happen eventually.  People get dealt AA all the time, it's really not that special.

Once you've got the first pair of bullets, the chance of being dealt another on the very next hand is 220-1, and the chance of lucking out three times in a row are a relatively modest (1/221) x (1/221) = 1/48841, or 48840-1.

So roughly speaking, every forty-eight thousand or so times someone sees AA they're going to three-peat.
