Well having returned from boot camp did i think it was worth it? Yes.

Initially I was sceptical as I thought that it was more aimed at the beginners end of the poker playing spectrum but I was genuinely surprised,Now I wouldn't call myself a great player but i think i can hold my own at the level that I play at and that suits me fine,I know most of us dream of being a full time pro but personally I don't think it would suit me.Especially after seeing Tikays eyes on sunday morning at breakfast and knowing he had a full day on the boot camp to do b4 driving north to try and make DTD,might seem like a great life but the reality of it all is I'd say somewhat different. But fair play to all that do.
The weekend got off under a bit of  a strange start.I was in contact with someone from Skypoker b4 hand regarding car sharing for the trip, when on Thursday he emailed me and asked if I minded having his wife for company,I replied that i didn't really know how to answer that but would have no problem with it,after a phone call from said player it was arranged to meet at cheverley services 4.30pm on the Friday. So there I am drinking my £3 cup of coffee when i spot a family walking in (husband/wife and 2 young boys)  man with phone to his ear,my phone rings and straight away it dawned on me what was going on here. What the guy had done was put his wife on the bootcamp and told her about it at the last minute so she wouldn't be able to back out of it,all the time I'm thinking omg thats all I need is someone that now I feel responsible for(I went away for a weekend with out the wife and kids and to relinquish all responsibility for 2 days). After  a quick hello that was it he was gone with the kids leaving a slightly err embarrassed me at the thought of going away for the weekend with someone's wife especially as now i had to call the wife and explain that I am now away with another woman! Fortunately Kathy was excellent company and a genuinely nice Lady although she was petrified of going as she has only really played on line at small stakes b4.
Upon calling the wife when I got into my room she roared with laughter when I told her the unusual start,

So how was Boot Camp??

Surprisingly Very good, why?

1 by the ease comprehension of the different modules that were covered,
2 by the great work put in by all the hosts,Tikay,Matt,Nick,Kara, and errr Dr Tom,
3 The friendliness of all the attendees,
4 Tops hotel location 200 yards from casino all but 10 yards undercover,
5 The fun had by all

Did I learn anything from it?Honestly I don't think I actually learned anything new from the boot camp that I hadn't already known or had read about but what it did do was reiterate some of the things that sometimes you tend to forget or don't put into practice and for that part it was very worth while, but talking to the beginner/novices that were there I know that it certainly helped their game immensely,

Matt B bottled out of the bet after I took him out of the stt on Fri nite saying that he has become to attached to his piece of facial hair (but to tell the truth I really didn't want to grow 1) The tourney on sat nite was genuinely of a good standard of play especially as it was after all just a freeroll,We started about 8 o'clock and it didn't finish till about 2.30 bearing in mind there was only about 50 odd runners,I finished a creditable 4th after grinding my way through to the final table busting out with  but seeing as a was card dead most of the nite was happy with that. After a quick coffee and chat it was then time for some Zzz which wasn't too easy as the bed was orrid but hey ho.

In conclusion would i do it again?? Definitely but only if i won another £2.50 satellite..

So a big  to all of the skypoker crew for making it a very enjoyable weekend.. thumbs up thumbs up

Glad you enjoyed it and im sure it was a great weekend.

Fair to say that only beginners would benefit from the poker theory taught during the weekend? As that seemed to be the crux of the debate on here a month or so, back.
