Whilst doing a spell check of a PM i was sending to Ironside i was dismayed to find the word 'stovies' highlighted! How is this possible? Stovies is an intregal part of any decent poker game/ festival and yet Blonde has never heard of it? Heads should roll ps The spell check also highlighted 'blonde'??

Essentially (or atleast the way MrsBoldie makes it) Potatoes, onions, carrots and sausages all mixed together in one big delicious mush. everybody makes it differently though...essentially it's mash crap with root vegetables...it's very nice home cooking..and always the sort of cooking your gran does best. (unless it's MrsBoldie making it..in which case hers is obviously better

The Stovies recipe at The International here in Aberdeen is obviously a closely guarded secret though i can confirm we use cornbeef but not sausages. Our next Stovies buffet will be available free of charge at the APAT Regional on April 5th.

I thought stovies were an east coast thing. I've never eaten them nor do any of my aunts or gran make them. The only place I've heard about stovies been made in Glasgow is in Maryhill. Is that were your Mrs B comes from?

My family's from the west Mad & my Dad loves stovies. Personally I don't but they're fairly well known where I come from.
