I agree, if they got a torn around the £30-£50 mark they would definately get more runners and people that are learning the game will be able to afford to learn at an affordable price.

Yea £50 max to start off with then maybe tinker with it when they have 30+ regular runners! id like to play a omaha tourney but £100 is just too much!

Maybe the 8 is the number of people who preregistered ?

The number had to be exact to win the £25.

Id be more willing to travel there for a £25 comp and learn a bit more about live omaha and so it doesnt cost me £100 to get schooled by the better players! the old saying is you pay to learn and id rather pay £25 to learn than £100.

Its clearly not, or they would be getting more runners.

Cheap rebuys are surely the way for people learning omaha.

In reality though Omaha is not really a tournament game.

I agree that omaha is played more in cash games than competitons, but I don't think there is anything wrong with it as a tournament game. Like any of the other main forms of poker it is highly skillful and there is massive depth in the play. I believe it is unfortunate that texas has such dominance in the poker world, at the moment and for the forseeable future.

The TOTAL number of Runners, including me, (I never left London until 6pm & arrived 45 minutes late) was......8.

I can't recall what the Rules were - was it "exact number", or "nearest"?

I'm happy to cough up to the rightful winner, if there was not one, I'll roll it over to next week.

Claims please?

As & from next week, the Comp will start at the much later time of 9.15pm. Hopefully, early Bustees from that evening's Hold 'Em will then be tempted to move across.

The DTD Suits were also interested in the comment by several on this thread that a £25 or £50 might be a good, & more viable, "Omaha Learning Experience", but there are no plans, AFAIK, to abandon the £100 at present, if they introduced a Rookie Omaha Comp, it would be seperate, & extra.

Feel free to comment on this thread, the DTD Suits have been alerted to it, & they do that thing we all like - listen.
