Ok, I don’t really know what the word ‘Blog’ stands for, but it seems to me to be a place where you can waffle on about yourself, have a whinge, share your wisdom, air your problems, and tell people how wonderful you are, all in the guise of entertainment

You can write it up whenever you feel like it, twice a day for a week and then nothing for six months, there are no rules, the content doesn’t even have to be good (or accurate) Great! No wonder everyone has one, I’m starting mine here

Wednesday November 2nd 2005

I don’t know why I’m starting my blog now, it’s 12:15am and I’ve only been out of bed for about an hour and a half, nothing much has happened yet. Today is a gym day for Mrs Red and me; we try to go 3 times a week. I hate it but since I now spend all my time sitting in front of this computer I feel I have to make the effort. On gym days I like to just get it over with as quickly as possible so I usually get straight out of bed, put on my sweats and go, this morning however, Mrs Red has gone to the shops for five minutes, that was an hour and a half ago, this delay has complicated things because I have now eaten quite a large breakfast and am even less inclined to exercise

I am wrestling with a few problems today

1)   The gas heater in one of my caravans is playing up, should I have a go at fixing it myself (I think I can) but I would have to live with the consequences if it exploded during the night, or should I call out the expert who will do the same things I would and charge me £150 plus £50 call out plus VAT

2)   I would like to play the £100 and the £150 at Sheffield this week but is there any value there? On the - side they are both re-buys and have relatively short clocks/starting chips, not really my favourite combo, add to this the fact that I have to arrive really early to stand any chance of getting a seat (no one can buy you in) and it’s a smoking card room. On the + side they will make a lot of money, they are ranking and I love the atmosphere in Sheffield

3)   Should I play the festival at the Berkley casino in Glasgow? It’s a pain to travel to and it clashes with some other things I want to do, but the games have a great structure, I did well there last time and last but not least, I think the people that were supposed to sponsor me last time are still involved and I would love to do well again, this time wearing a Blonde poker or a p4c shirt

4)   I wonder if I can connect my lappy up to the telly so that I can flick between the two so as to vary the distance to the screen while I’m playing and avoid some eyestrain?

5)   It’s getting quite late in the day now and Mrs red still isn’t back, should I eat something else?

That’s it for now, more Dog’s blogging later, maybe..

When I go to the gym I like to go as early as poss cos I hate it hanging over me, I don't do shopping unless I absolutely have to

Mrs Red has just returned, she was distracted by a charity shop, now we have decided to give the gym a miss today and I am riddled with guilt

Oops, I see what you mean now, well spotted, I won't edit it because then your post won't make sense and neither will this reply

I wont tell if you dont......

so did you have a second lunch to compensate for missing the gym and did it give you enough brain power to solve your daily dilemas?

Anyone is welcome to hijack this thread (hijack is a strange choice of word for a pilot) But don't start changing the rules of poker, I have enough trouble with the ones we have now
