AQ in BB, we have 17 x bb and blinds are going up next hand.
UTG + 2 tight player puts in a standard 3 x bb raise.

The range you put him on is 99+, AJs+

Are we prepared to shove here from the BB and get a showdown hoping for a raise or are we passing?

If your range on him is V tight..then call if your prepared to bet the pot or all in on a dry un-coordinated  flop

if you miss the Q ( the A may be no good if it flops,if he has AK )... are u done with the hand>? ( u have to ask youself this )

seeing as it looks like u have to hit another Q ,then its a clear fold

this subscribes to the gap theory

fold....

yeah it was either shove or fold there the stop n' go did cross my mind any board that never had an A or K.  Kinda hoping he did have AK and we could get him off the hand.  Difficult situation to be in, had been card dead for a while well out the money and it was already starting to get crap shooty once the blinds go by us we then have around 12 x bb meaning we're approaching sgove with ATC.  AQ does have showdown value but with oppos range being so tight it was a pass.

But ...... it was shoveled in pre and matey duly had AK board bricked out and K played.  Bollocks, who do we go against our instinct!!  Arrrgh

If that is a realistic range then this is a snap pass.

The player in question must be really bad to be that tight though!

The only hands he played in the first 4 levels JJ, AK, AQ each time he put in a 3 x bb raise and then pushed the flop once with middle set. I don't recall him playing anything else.  This was a donkfest on iPoker so its plausible that he is either very bad/super tight unless he has the goods.
