I knew it was down to the Masters themselves, but I'm just appauled that they haven't improved the coverage and just didn't want to miss any.

Didn't realise it was on interactive now, thanks Andrew, I love the par 3 comp Cheesy

The reason is that they think (maybe not unreasonably) that the people who actually go and watch it on the course deserve a bit extra. Watching golf live is, well, rubbish - I can't think of another sport where a live spectator gets to see so little of the action. The Masters committee have decided that the first nine holes should be something only the people on the course get to see.

EDIT: - actually, scrap all that - they've changed the rules and now allow cameras on the first nine as well, though it may be highlights only, and not live coverage.

which is frankly barmy

are the tv rights for the masters lower than the Opens? or does the cachet of the event ensure they get paid top whack regardless?

The club is so loaded (because of the juicy membership fees) that they can tell the broadcasters to go whistle with any demands. If the top bidder were to demand more coverage, they'd simply tell them to sod off and go with a cheaper, more acquiescent broadcaster.

Outrights look pretty much nalied to the floor value wise as its a strange comp and with all the old timers playing its almost a reduced field at the side of a normal comp.

Ive had small ew bets on Cabrera, Romero, Mahan and Byrd in the without Woods markets and bet Cabrera ew in the top rest of the world market.

My main bet is a bit of a gulp and press bet wager, ive sold Tiger Woods over Ian Poulter at 13.65 shots over 72 holes on Sporting index's matchmakers facility, Poulter made the last 8 cuts in majors and if he makes the cut here he should cover un ess Tiger goes ballistic tho it might not be very comfortable to watch.

how's that bet work if Poulter misses the cut? simply voided?

If either player misses the cut the score is doubled, so for instance if Poulter misses and shoots +4 his score for this bet is +8. Should Woods then be on -6 he would win by 14 shots and I would lose only 0.35 of a unit. If Woods was -10 the make up would be +18.
