How much would I be looking at to get some accountants to do my tax returns? Im a bit dense about this sort of thing, I figure I can just hire one, give them my box of receipts and years earnings and let them go to work once a year?

Depends on how complicated your financial situation is.

I pay £600 or so a year (as a self employed sole trader) to a London firm, but do most of the work myself, they just do the return & any loose ends, financial planning, business advice etc.

Suggest you find a local self employed (ie not a firm of accountants).

If he does make sure he doesn't include an 11.11% increase on normal rates before discount Wink

I have replied. AND been totally upfront and honest - even down to what I would say to a "unknown" potential customer.

Yep very fair indeed, only £3200 an hour, the deeds to my house, my first born has to work as his stableboy for two years and he gets a go with my missus.

Just joshing, it was a very fair and honest rate and pretty soon a shoe box with receipts will be heading his way.

If you can post a picture of your missus it would help to assess whether this is a good offer or not.

Just to bump this one up a bit.

I hired the old M3Boy to do my tax return and think it would be criminal if I didnt big him up a bit.

Service was speedy, professional, personalised and he saved me a fair chunk of wonga. Not only that but his rates are better than pretty much all the other services I've seen.

FACT!
