Mr Matt "Roundhead" Tyler moves in for his last 70k from the cutoff. Chris Bruce on the big blind enquires, "How much is it?" before calling.

Chris -

Garinder Purewal is now the big chip leader. I joined the action with the board reading

And Ouday, now pretty short, shoves when it folds around to him on the small blind. Daniel Byrom in the big blind calls instantly. "Well, I didn't have a choice, did I?" sighs Ouday.

For those that are wondering, Rob Creed split the Omaha event with a local player with Ralph 'karabiner' Shalson finishing in 3rd. Maria came 2nd (no dirty jokes there please).

It folds around to shortstack Matt Tyler on the button, and he does the decent thing and shoves. Chris Bruce on the big blind does the decent thing and calls.

According to Dingdell, Chris Bruce had to ask his neighbour to move down because he now has too many chips.
If Brucie plays his cards right, he can win this one.

Remember, if you will, that Mr Bruce was shortstacked pretty much all the way through until about an hour ago or something. It is already a most impressive feat of shortstacked grindage...

Approximate chip counts (DTD seem to like Vegas style big stacks):
Alan Stearn -- 260k
Kevin Lund -- 235k
Daniel Byrom -- 315k
Chris Bruce -- 490k
Garinder Purewal -- 375k

I thought this was a mighty fine move from Garinder, that ultimately led to the demise of a genuine dangerman, so I bent his ear for a moment. Garinder's basic answer was that he didn't think Ouday would play the hand like such with a Ten, and would probably check or check-call another hand down unless he had nothing. He put his opponent on a raggy Ace at best, so couldn't just smooth call, so if Ouday had enough back, he was happy to push over the top confident that his man would be forced to fold. He also referred briefly to a previous hand that had occurred that was reminiscent in terms of the betting action and how the hand panned out. Nice play, sir, I shall tip my proverbial hat.

Clash of the enormo-stacks...
Small blind Chris Bruce makes it 40k, and big blind Garinder Purewal calls.
They see an
flop and Chris checks - Garinder makes it 50k and Chris calls. They both check the
turn, and Chris checks the
river too, but Garinder bets out. Chris calls, and announces Ace-high (I think with a Jack). Garinder however takes it with A-7, sneakily hit on the river.
Players are now on a short break.
