I knew that. North Devon in fact. Lovely part of the country.
Perhaps you were too tall to know.

Two whinges.
Whinge 1. So I go into Subway yesterday. After a foot long steak & cheese with Regga Regga I go back to the counter for a coffee and two of dem macadamia nut cookies (damn nice cookies btw). The sign reads White Choc & Macadamia Nut Cookies. The kid behind the counter says "Are you aware they contain nuts sir?" What? No shit sherlock!! Yeah i'm aware, the same way I'm aware that steak sandwich I just ate had steak in it. "But some people aren't aware they contain nuts sir" What?? What people?? Who isn't aware a nut cookie contains nuts? Anyway that created mini life tilt but wasn't worthy enough in itself for the whinge thread. But today I go to Subway for lunch again. After the sandwich I go to the counter, same deal, coffee and two of dem macadamia nut cookies. Same kid. "Are you aware they contain nuts sir?" Wait a minute, gtfo, you serious kid? You remember me from yesterday? "Yes Sir" You remember that convo we had about the nuts in the cookies? "Yes Sir" You know I know the answer to that question? "Yes sir" Please tell me why you are asking it then. "It's policy sir". ZOMG!!! This policy instead of common sense syndrome in life is really starting to tilt me out. So Subway have a policy that protects people who knowingly have a life threatening nut allergy who would order macadamia nut cookies and be unaware they contain nuts. Surely those people should be allowed to just die on the floor? If you die if you eat nuts you stay clear of a food with the word nut in it don't you? What a ridic policy.
Whinge 2 - What the hell is wrong with pigeons these days. Why do they just stand in the road waiting to be run down? C'mon pigeons! Surely you've got make some sort of token effort to get out the way? I'm sick of looking at a cloud of feathers in the rear view mirror. I could understand if Subway had a policy of asking pigeons about nuts in cookies though.

No doubt he hates the policy 10 times as much as Mantis.
I'm kinda torn. Part of me says to respect the guy who makes you sandwiches and don't give him pisch. Another part of me says fk him, if he doesn't like it he can get a better job.

I never give anybody shit & tbh I find the policy amusing. I just gave this kid some basic life coaching and tried to enpower him to think independently & to resist ridiculous corporate doctrine. I metaphorically put my arm around him and guided him back onto the righteous path, the path according to Mantis, the right path. When I went in today and asked for 2 of dem smartie cookies, same kid, wink wink, no nut advice & hey presto my work is done.
