Fixed your post,

However i find the Stanley Mint in Glasgow a great place for poker, the staff are spot on, The punters are great with a decent mix of average players and total fish and the general table banter is better than most cardrooms.

I have to say you are the first person i have ever known to be negative about Stanley's.

completely agree with my friend here. It is BY FAR the best cardroom in Glasgow. The game is fantastic, the TD actually tries hard for the players and the regulars are all friendly people...and still fishy enough to take money off.

Is there anything specific you find yourself hating about the players/venue?

If you play poker as a recreation, & something about it makes you hate it, or become upset, maybe it's time to take a break from Poker, & do something you enjoy, & that does not stress you.

there was a funny incident on saturday at the stanley, anyone who plays in glasgow on a regular basis will know "old robert" hes played and dealt all the biggest cash games up here and down south and even ran an underground casino in glasgow for the " godfather" crimelord guy arther thompson. he must be 78 or something now, great character

anyway robert was dealing as he always does it his table for the first hour and this guy critised his dealing , plus i think the guy had his hand in the pot or something, so it went like " get ur fuckin hands out the pot ya ****" lol if you dont like my dealing you can do it urself etc, something along those line anyway. the guy took exeption to this and called the cardroom manager wanting robert thrown out saying " are you just gonna let him get away with him calling me a ****" ! it ended up getting calmed down then this guys pal went over to to roberts table in a semi threatening manner , i mean whats he gonna do take a pensioner outside for a fight? lol say "what u talking to my pal like that for " etc robert was like who are you? guy says " hes my parnter" lmao partner? ok mate nae bother everyone was in stiches.

as for the cardroom its easily the best run place in glasgow, all the staff are great and every comp starts on time, selection of re buys and freezouts at afforable prices for the recreational player. where wil you find a £10 rebuy comp thats gets a £5k prizepool? plus its massive so no cramped conditions.

as for the punters i know most of the regulars and there fine plus its pllayed in good spirit ,obv there will some people you dont like but thats would be the same in any cardroom all over the country

Aye "Auld Robert" is a legend, knows his stuff and there is no bullshitting him at the table.
