Why are your bets limited?

This used to happen me all the time when I was arbritrage betting, basically as ChipRich says bookies limit you if you are showing a good profit/have some idea what you are doing.

It used to be a game of cat and mouse with the bookies with arbing as I was betting on Russian 2nd div footie matches one minute then on some tennis tourney in asia and then a domestic cricket match etc. The bookies would get very suss, i must have had multiple accounts on about 15 different bookies under family numbers etc to keep ahead of the game. The bookies hated me as I always had an edge.

that's not the same really though, arbing hasn't got much to do with betting, theres no gambling involved, not if you're doing it right anyway.

arbing is almost dead as a serious money making exercise, you have to work so hard to find them now. Once your figured as an arber you just become an arb alert and you can have your £2.50 on.

True in both cases, its not gambling as such if you do it right. Though there are plenty of squeaky bum moments when a price moves on you before you can get it on.

I haven't really put much effort into arbing since 05, though i will take the odd one if i spot it. I used to do it manually by bringing up multiple windows and going through the prices 1 by 1, but software has taken over the market and the prices just don't stay for very long. Not like the golden days of 2001 when you could make 4 figs+ in the first week of wimbledon without even trying.

you can still find the odd one, there have been a couple on the snooker between handicaps and correct score. The greatest days were when bet and win first started and they got in what i can only assume was a couple blokes from the pub to compile the odds, i think some people never got their money off them running into the tens of thousands, fortunately we managed to get ours before they banned us.

Lol i remember bet and win i was always releived when the other side of the bet won with them. They limited my bets so quickly it wasn't worth staying with them.

I was quite lucky when i was arbing i never got my money stuck anywhere avoided the whole sporting options (think that was the name) debacle as well.
