Couple of hands both involving Kristian Aksnes while we wait for the final table.

Kristian raises to 18,000 from the cutoff, Henning Granstad flat calls in the bb.

Two Clubs brings a check/check from both players.

Henning now bets out 29k, Kristian counts out the bet and keeps counting.... putting a raise of 75k in.

Henning nods, taps the table and folds.

All the players fold round to Acid Nilsen in the sb, who decides to now push his stack.

Kristian asks for a count.... it's just over 100k to call

he looked like he really wants to make this call but finally passes  face up. Acid doesn't show.

Thanks to everyone who wished me luck in this today.

After the worst performance of my short poker career in the ME I managed to figure out that to beat these Norwegians you just have to play tight. Some of their play from what I've seen is nothing short of spectacular and I have learnt so much about how poker can be played against weaker opposition.

Some of the big pots that got shown down were brilliant. A personal favourite was the 80k pot between the 2 big stacks 20k value betted on the end with K high and called by bottom pair 6's. Me and Suketu looked at each other in pure disbelief.

I don't know where they get the balls!!

My final hand was a bluff gone wrong unfortunately. I thought my oppo was weak when he checked the river so I shoved 67k in to an 80k pot with 9's against 2 over cards. He thought for a good 3 or 4 minutes. dont river me

The call with A 7 was a good one and I can't fault the guy one bit.

Hopefully the Norwegians have enjoyed DTD and will come back next year. They're all good guys and a pleasure to play against. Lots of respect for their playing style and attitude.

Cheers all, I'm off to get drunk.

Players are sitting down after a short break, they are due for their full break at the end of this level (just under 40 minutes from now)

Kev has gone to snap the pics of the finalists.

Not a single flop has been seen yet, Dag has raise a couple of times only getting the blinds+antes. Siv Vekseth has pushed her 60k stack in 3 times now(adding about 20k each time), but can't find anyone willing to try and take her out.

Official chip counts to come during/after the break, at the end of this level.

Players are now back from their break

Blinds are now 5000/10000 with 1000 ante

Average stack is now 242,500....

the increase in the average is brought about by the hand that Kev is bringing you now.

David Tighe is out in 9th winning £1,164

He shoved pre with A3 and Mikkelson made the call with KQ ...

a flop containing both a King AND a Queen brings more chips for Mikkelsons mountain of a stack

Siv takes £1,455 for 8th and Mikkelson mountain grows a bit taller ...
