I was kinda enjoying it until the end, at which point I turned to the girlfriend and was like "what the fuck is this?".

Cate Blanchett's accent switches between tawdry Russian and some sort of Engishesque.  Think it improves as the film goes on but it could be that I just stopped noticing/caring.

Couple of other poor parts but overall worth watching.

4.5/10

Think that 4.5 rating is a tad harsh, Scotty. I thought it was excellent, especially considering the hype and expectation. Familiar, highly successful formula was followed pretty much throughout, Ford was splendid for 65, and all the action that we loved from the first few films was present in all it's glory. Some great lines, although Ford's comedy timing was slightly off (as seems to be the case with some actors as they age), but on the whole dialogue was satisfactory, which is the best you can hope for in an Indiana Film. Perhaps too many characters wandering around made the whole pursuit of the Kingdom a little overcrowded and the rekindling romance story seemed a little bit contrived, but the cast in general was well selected in my book. Personally I thought Blantchett was great and should be commended for a charismatic, fun performance (agreed, it was hammy), whilst the youngster, although would never be able to replace Ford as the lead, made a worthy sidekick. Some great settings and I loved the new 50's surroundings, although I probably wouldn't have gone for any silly alien angles, but I can forgive them for that when they throw in a nuclear explosion for no other reason but to have a blow a whole village up.

Highly entertaining affair. Couldn't have asked for too much more. Let's not forget it's an Indian Jones Film, not Schindler's List.

I reckon Schindler's list would have been better if he had been running away froma  big boulder at some stage in the movie.

Snoopy, it's a 4.5 in my ratings - to get a high rating in my ratings you have to be something special!!!

I watched 'The Breed' on Sky Movies the other day, that's a 2/10.

Whether or not Cate's accent is convincing isn't the issue with a film like this though.  We all know it's not Oscar material.  Films like this area all about the fun and I can't wait to see it.

I could feel a mixing of the Genre's that both George Lucas & S. Spielberg have a pedigree in,  My feeling is they should not have tried to mix with the indy franchise.

The adventure aspects of the film were great, the dialogue was fine & i think Harrison Ford pulled it off at 65. the use of aliens - sci fi was a step too far imho.

thats my only gripe is the use of "aliens"

Dont enlarge the small type unless you want spoilers

No one said it was an issue?  It was just ridic, as was the other things pointed out - like Mutt playing Tarzan.

Extremely disappointing. Not a patch on the previous films in the franchise.

I reckon Schindler's list would have been better if he had been running away froma  big boulder at some stage in the movie.

yep, or he gets on the kids bike and flys across the sky with it for a little bit before crashing, some action ffs, give the film some credibility.

indeed..and what';s this one red jacket all about FFS!?! You either do the movie in colour OR in black and white...don't fart about with one red jacket..Althoguh since it's Spielberg he probably didn't even notice it was in it..sloppy directing IMO.
