Finally jim Bolger has seen some sense and decided New Approach will actually go for the derby..I hope he hasn't buggered it up by sending the horse for the Irish Guinneas but 6-1 at most bookies (7's on betfair) is surely way too big for a horse that was 3-1 over the winter for the Derby?

i really dont fancy new approach for the derby, will he get the distance.i dont think he will,if its soft he may sneak a place, but curtain call looks a very good bet if it does turn out to be soft,

I believe Steelio & I might have already seen the Derby winner in the flesh....@ York.

I just cant really split Tartan Bearer and Frozen Fire.

Don't know why Jim Bolger is trying him in the Derby, I don't think there's a hope that New Approach will get the distance.

I'm going for a bit of an outsider in Kandahar Run.

I am fairy sure the horse will stay. He is bred to stay the trip anyways and doesn't need to lead. The main thing that would put me off is that he ran in the Irish Guinneas..and Jim Bolger's interview on ATR yesterday..he comes across as a proper pillock.

Got to be honest Boldie, I wouldn't give much notice to anything Jim Bolger says after the Teafilo Guineas debacle last year. If he told me his name was Jim Bolger I'd ask to see his passport so I could check it. Not that I was one of those who got burned by that piece of misinformation.

If I did fancy New Approach I wouldn't be put off by the fact he ran in the Irish Guineas either, I think there's sufficient time between the races to have him ready if he came through the race unscathed. Distance wise I actually think 1m 2f would be the ideal distance for New Approach but we'll find out on Saturday if he does get the 1m 4f.  I also think this year's three year olds are a pretty poor crop but hopefully something will prove me wrong on Saturday.

Agreed..Jim Bolger doesn't seem to give a crap about the punters and he's seems a pedantic twat as well.

Yeah I really like Tartan Bearer... fancy Washington Irving to run a good race as well, so will have that in the place market along with Tartan Bearer in the win.
