In the days before electricity let alone the internet played a play by mail version of this.  One of the other players was a certain very young John Terry, phoned me up to get me to sell him Mark Hughes!!

awesome story!

How about Sunderland? think they are going to be in playoffs. don't think any Div 1 teams are available apart from the 3 shit teams that are about to be relegated.

Middlesbrough are pretty poor but they a few decent players and have David Villa so you can either make a lot of money to improve the team or at least have a star player to work around.

Plus Rich's Man City bought Aguero from them last week for near £30m so they must have a fair bit in the bank. WHU are another decent option but u want to be up with the big boys so go for Birmingham. Pretend they are Villa, or something.

Info for Play off teams.
Usual deal with 3rd playing 6th and 4th playing 5th.
Semi final is a one off game with the highest placed team playing at home. This will take place the day after the season finishes
The final is a one off game at a neutral venue. This will take place the day after the semi final

Quote from Soccermanager -  Obviously with having three possible matches in the same number of days there would be an issue of fitness, and naturally we have addressed this issue and put something in place to help players recover slightly quicker.

How fast "slightly quicker" is we don't know but with all play off places secured i doubt many of us will have 1st teamers out for the final league game.

Fcuked up any chances of automatic promotion with a 1-1 draw against lowly Ipswich, so play-offs for me.

Team selection is a difficult one - the difference in prize money between 3rd and 6th is about £1.6m plus home advantage for the semi-final if 3rd or 4th.

I am away to bottom of the league QPR, so may well risk a reserve side being played.
If i do, must remember to change the team the following day for the play offs though!!!

Not that i've been preparing but....none of us have our last league game against teams outside the bottom 6.
I've had more wins away than home so only really the £1.6mil to think about for me. I thought about it and i'd rather give the play-offs my best shot with my players as fit as possible and not risk suspensions or injuries.
