Would like your opinions on a transfer i've made in another game. I'm managing Spurs and in this game they've got Dos Santos who is rated 87 and his SM value is around 7mil IIRC. Celtic have offered me £17mil + Scott Mcdonald a 24 year old 89 rated striker, value of c.£7mil. I essentially bit their hand off at this offer as i figure it's too good to turn down. Sure Dos Santos' rating will rise if he plays regular football for Spurs but i don't envisage it going beyond 91ish this season (that's prob a bit generous too seing as Jenas is rated 89 i think and had an excellent season) and probably never above 93 in the long term. So to me it seemed a no brainer. Thoughts?

How old is Dos Santos? seems you got a good deal to me unless the guy is 17 or 18.

I've found in this game i'm in (think it's a world league set up) that as the world's best teams are split between the four divisions that it is very hard to sign good players who're at unmaged clubs, simply because the majority of good players gravitate towards the bigger clubs, who're all included in this set up. For instance I think the only 93+ player at an unmanaged club is Juan Roman Riqueleme (sp?). Therefore I think this pushes up the price of good players as they're harder to come by.

thats right
I took over an Inter team that were bottom, but with £150m
impossible to spend that on players that improved my team as they were all locked up at managed clubs
so had to go for 89-91 20 year olds to fill out the squad and wait
We can maybe get a talent scout SM thread going...bargains etc for people in multiple leagues to look at

Ryan Shawcross from Stoke is a good buy IMO. He's a 20yr-old CB ex Man Utd I believe. Currently rated 84 but with Stoke getting promoted + his repuation (voted top five in the 442 best players outside the prem league poll) + his age he's a good prospect and he's sure to rise as I think one of the factors that determines player ratings is what league they're playing in and Prem League>Championship obv.

Joe Mattock
18, LB, Leicester City. 82 rated
England U21 regular, about to be transferred to Villa, Newcastle, Chelsea depending on who you believe
the next Gareth Bale/Aaron Ramsey/Dan Gosling type transfer
yours for £2m
If and when he goes he'll be at 85+ and hould he make it as a first team regular on a 2-3 year view could be far higher.

5mill..looks a fair bit of money for him TBH..can't see him going up a lot this season if Stoke get murdered in the EPL.
