Last 16 of the Shield tonight. My Blackburn side face rookie's Chelsea at Ewood Park. Tough game but put a decent side out so hopeful of stealing a quarter final spot.

Blackburn 2 Chelsea 3

Chelsea had lady luck to thank tonight as they scraped past Blackburn in the last 16 of the Shield. Blackburn had 22 shots to Chelsea's 5 but the higher quality of the Chelsea attacking players showed as Benzema notched twice and Kaka scored the winner in the 80th minute. Blackburn had fought back from 2-0 down at half time with goals from Dos Santos and Pavlyuchenko but Brazilian superstar Kaka won the game for Chelsea with a tap in late on. Roman Pavlyuchenko scooped the MOM award.

Blackburn manager Scott Campbell was devastated with the loss and pointed out Chelsea's opening goal as a key moment as Benzema raced clear to score despite looking offside.

Elsewhere, Watford pulled off the shock of the round by trouncing Liverpool at Anfield 4-0. Henderson and Ainsworth both scored twice.

Sunderland 2 Newcastle 0

My second string strike force served me well tonight as a weakened Sunderland team progressed to the quarter final of the blonde shield. The big guns will be back for Thurdays game with Sheffield Wednesday as the promotion quest must come first.

A comfortable win for Crystal Palace sets up a quarter-final away to Watford.
One of these Div 2 sides will be looking forward to a massive semi-final in a few weeks.

Transfer Bans are coming to an end from the first mad rush of transfers.
Anyone going to be getting rid of anyone they signed and has flopped?
I'm pretty happy with my transfers, nobody has turned out rubbish although i paid 112mil for a right back and could have got cheaper alternatives but i could get 11 for him if i cashed in now but he's playing well.

Also what are peoples plans with their youth team?
Buying on the cheap and selling as soon as the stats go up or buying and hoping the stats don't stop going up?

I haven't had a single rating improvement yet..very dissapointing.

I might sell a player or two but not decided yet. I really need to improve my PSV side to be competitive but every player that would improve my side is too expensive.

No rating improvements here either, you're not alone.
