Three days ago I received this PM

Dear Mr Prew,

I would like to be considered for 'the well' please.

I think i could combine low profanity humour with serious answers and would answers all questions in depth.

Yours sincerely,

Ben Mayhew

This caused me much consternation. I was faced with a tough choice. Either

a) avoid replying for three days and then be open and honest and say "no thanks Ben, you're hopeless"

or

b) reply immediately saying "thank you for your interest we'll put you on the list to do one" and then hope he forgets

I went, lily-livered for b) and replied to the PM

Imagine my complete surprise when another PM arrives from Ben today saying the original PM was a wind up and he knew nothing about it.

Whilst I am of of course immensely relieved that we can now be spared tales of "heads or tails for 10p rollz" it does not amuse me that the japesters placed me, a busy moderator and all-round nice guy incapable of saying "no" in a tough position. Don't you know who I am?

Please don't hijack accounts to send PMs to mods purporting to be serious, nothing good will come of it.

that goes for the people masquerading as M3Boy recently too.

Cheers!

Hailing from the sunny shores of Bury St. Edmonds in Suffolk, this six foot bachelor can be a menace online as well as live, initially testing his skills on Pacific Poker and later triumphing in a $200 Omaha Hi-Lo Freezeout on PokerStars for $12k, although he hesitantly confessed to being intoxicated and believing it was Hold'Em.

hahahahaha. golden.

errrrr, wouldn't Ben be the perfect person to have in the well?

Hes been through massive spin ups, taking shots with his whole roll in vegas, and going busto, would be pretty interesting if u ask me!

I was exaggerating a point for vaguely comic effect about sending PMs purporting to be from someone else. Evenif it is Ben..

Ben's ok. I'll consult and cogitate.
