I work for a Telecomms company and we install them dishes up on the telecomms masts...we have this massive deal going to roll out a project for the Police so they can have a more effective comunication network.
Now we are looking to instal a dish upon an existing mast on Fair Ise (one of those islands WAY up north) and can't do it because;
"This is to protect the red-throated diver bird breeding assemblage "...the guys that own the site say installs can only happen between September and May...I don't know if any of you happen to have tried going up to the Shetlands area outside those months but the weather isn't all that good...and definetely not good enough to climb 15 meters up a feckin tower.
So a police/emergency services network isn't actually necessary (covers a large water area and alll that as well so boats sinking and getting into trouble would rely on this network) because them little snappers might not like someone walking past with a dish and sticking it up a pole....the bird isn't even that cute FFS (OK, it's actually a very pretty bird)!...yuck MONTHS of work down the drain (admittedly it wouldn't have gone down the drain if some monkey had done their job right in the first place)..I'm all for nature but not when it incoveniences me!

It's you guys that are conning everyone into getting an unnecessary upgrade to digital when they've already got it and then charge £500, i watched it on watchdog and nicky campell looked particularly mad so i knew it was true.
