why do uk b & m casinos not run sportsbooks?

are they not allowed?

They do.

Grosvenor and Blue Square are the same company, as are Gala and Coral. Ladbrokes have a casino in Paddington.

Maybe you can't have a bookmaking licence and a casino licence for the same premises - hard and soft gambling kept apart.

only mechanised non RNG roulette though, not Bricks and Mortar croupier roulette

not allowed at the moment, but there are plans in the new regional casino's and the super casino ( if ever built) but grosvenor has a blue square bookie next to the vic
