ive had an extended hiatus from online poker play due to moving flats and just in general getting on with life,

im now back however and gunning for a nice br again (a fish with a br is always welcome to tables Smiley)

however for once ive decided to set an actual goal - to have enough in my br to pay for LASIK surgery on my eyes.  is this actually a sensible goal? or am i just nuts?

have already gone from 150 to 500 back down to 250 and cant play tournaments to save my life - does anyone have any tips or thoughts to help me realise my goal?

get the surgery first so you can see the cards, then use the new edge to build your roll

so a boob job it is then

believe it or not i can actually see the cards Tongue its what my current specs are for although its mainly because i begrudge the cost of continuously having to get high index lenses that i want to get the lasik treatment.

for those of you that give a damn im playing $2/5 holdem and $1/2 omaha hi - anything smaller and i get bored and act like a true donk

any tips? (will post pics of boob job)

I might need my eyes testing but you say you started with 150 and play 2/5 NLHE and 1/2 PLO? If true, probably not eye surgery needed?

i used to take little "shots" at this level but shots and the adrenaline have given way to standardisation. besides i have a bajillion notes on the fish that play these games Smiley

Good luck to you..this laser eye surgery malarky actually costs 2300£ according to people I know that have had it done...but you're essentially having a bit of a spin up with the money you put in (which is great nothing wrong with that)..the goal is fine. Make 6k$ and withdraw..done Smiley

Michelle got hers done a few years back (and yes, she's still with me before you say it) and it was a 'buy one get one free' offer.  I'm sure it worked out at about £700.

Best thing she's ever done, other than marry me of course.

So would have been about £1400 total?
I worked with several people and they all came back with 2300'ish..and all that to get a clamp put on your eye and a laser pointed at it?...no thanks..glasses are the way to go..make me look sexy and all Smiley

Hi Azi..

Good to have a goal m8....I started playing saying to myself that if ever I got decent at the game and won something
I'd clear rather large Credit cards bills I'd built up.

This was three years ago and just last month after chipping away at my debt over that time I won the PKR $10K.

The feeling of satisfaction I felt after I received this months credit card statement with a nil balance was fantastic!!

If I hadn't found poker I'm convinced I'd still be in that debt..

All the best with your goal!!!

You're not as daft as you look.

Like I said, for Michelle the benefits were huge.  She's so glad she had it done.  Not everyone is suitable for it, it does depend on how bad your eyesight is, the shape of your eyes and if they have 'settled' at their current level for long enough.
