Someone please help me with this! The cash game at the International in Aberdeen has a reputation for being a bit out there, words like 'sick' and 'wild' have often been thrown at it, but last night it sunk to a new low when, at 4am, the 3 remaining players, for want of a better word, chose to play 14 card PLO Hi/Lo! Anyway the question arose; whats the optimum starting hand? Post the answer and I'll stick it on our notice board for future reference.
By the way if your wondering what sort of nutter would play such a game, allow me to enlighten you;

You don't need to. Nobody else can either!!

Think I'd drop one of the aces for a 9 to improve the straight. We don't need all 4 even for the flush.

Take A A A from three suits. Then K Q J to match these for straight flush possibilities. Then T8765432 in the other suit to stop anyone else getting a flush in that suit. I know they still could but it's a very long shot.

Don't drop the 4th A - half pot guaranteed every time it qualifies and mucho quartering at the same time..

btw you do all know that getting the "best" hand is about as likely as getting a hand that you should fold preflop?

We can, but I use a point count system which means that I take an hour before the flop to decide what to do.

So the same system as you have for Hold em then?
