The case for the prosecution rests, your honour.
sort of walked into that
It's all about how you assess value, if you had a free $10 bet would you prefer to have it on Andorra to bt France in a euro qualifier at 33/1 or an outsider in a 22 runner handicap at the same price?

Yeah, but they're both singles.
With a four timer, you have to be sure all four bets are of equal value. The likelihood is they're not - one will be better than the others. In which case, lump on the value bet as a single.

what do you mean by value? the one most likely to win? what if thats the 1/3 chance? you have to take into consideration that because theyre not all of equall value they will not be of equall price
I sort of understand where you're coming from with your post but it's also got me lol'ing, bankroll is a big factor in assessing value for some as people are constrained by their wallets and the acca compensates for lack of stake money, also how discerning is the average punter that they can acurrately quantify how strongly they fancy 4 indinidual bets?

Value = bet where the difference of the probability equitable to the price offered compared to the probabilty of victory you ascribe to the competitor is greatest.
Also, average punter = mug.

lol, so every bet you have has is because the price is bigger than you think it should be? do you really work out what price you think something should be yourself before baccking it?(if you work as an odds compiller dont answer), have you never looked at a horse in the morning and thought this will absoloutly guide home, its 11/8 seems a bit skinny for the conditions but i really fancy it, you fire up your computer and best price 5/4, you're not gonna be on?

Er, yeah, that's what I do (or did when I bet on things, before poker).
You price up a market then compare the odds and look for the ricks.
