The first time I played at the wsop the same thing happened to me. Fortunately the TD I spoke to was more understanding and just told me to make sure I brought the ID on day 2. Not that I had to worry about that, I only lasted two hours

You was robbed son, unlucky to catch a pedantic dealer/suity guy. I turned up twice without my passport and the dealers both times asked for ID. I just said 'We don't carry ID in the UK, I've got my players' card, which you need to produce a passport for, is that good enough?'
Twice this was fine. Just have to blag it.
