Everyone else they've apporached has treated it like the poinsoned challenge it is, Holloway's making noises about splitting the 'old firm'.

I like him as a guy. Leicester was the ultimate poisoned chalice, why he'd want to do hearts chairman after mandaric I am not sure

coaching ability good at smaller clubs, very unproven at a "big" job

Another decent length contract with a nice payoff if he gets the boot, and not too much damage to his rep because everyone knows the chairman is a bit mental.

Tottenham are closing in on the signing of Espanyol forward Luis Garcia, BBC Sport understands.

The 27-year-old, who can play across the front line and has 24 goals in 79 games for Espanyol, could cost £8m.

The move raises questions about the futures of Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane, although Spurs have yet to receive a bid for either player.

The Londoners are also hoping to break Blackburn's resolve over David Bentley and secure a deal for the winger soon.

Keane was on a list of 16 players that could leave Spurs according to the Beeb. Liverpool is interested so very strange to put him on a list that makes him cheap. I also don't get it as Keane is MUCH better than Bent is and I can't believe they don't want to keep him.

WALOB.

Keane not going anywhere.

Quote
One of my best mates was at Lords today for the cricket with his dad (both are west stand upper season ticket holders - near to where Levy etc sit). Anyhow, in front of them today was 1 of the spurs directors (i assume they recognised the director from spurs games - they didnt know his name for reference). So my mates dad asked him what was going on with Keano and was told in no uncertain terms that Keane is going nowhere!!

Had to edit the Garcia bit as it is a done deal!

Srsly man how the fk have Barca managed to snap up Hleb for 11.9mil. The guy is absolute class! Then you have players like Barry where the clubs want 18mil, being English seems to add like 10 mil onto your price tag.

The Hleb signing has got to be the bargain of the season by a distance.

People said the same about Henry when he went for 16 million and Cole went he went for Gallas and 5 million.

Truth is I trust Wenger's judgement more than Guardiola's. I'm sure most Arsenal fans do as well.

How much did he buy him for? Must be a decent return. Hleb is a quality footballer but what is his best position - I don't think its out left where I think he played most of last season. I'd sooner have Van Persie than Hleb for the second striker, far more girls goals and just as much other productivity.

Hleb ws bought for over £10m so not a huge profit.

If he'd been sold for £15-16m I dont think there'd be one complaint knowing how Wenger probably already has someone lined up. But yes £11.9m is a bit cheap for a club the size of Barca.
