40%, fuck off
What's wrong with that then ?
He's a product of our acadamy and we firstly lent him out to BRFC and then sold him on at a knock-down price which of course included a healthy sell-on clause in the contract. I would say that Arsenal deserve 50% of any profit.
What %age would you say is fair, and why ?

BOL, windup surely.
I'm just disappointed that such a large percentage of the transfer fee will be going elsewhere as I was hoping Ince would have the funds to re-invest in the squad.

Has this actually been reported anywhere?
I've heard of younger and far better players have sell on clauses for up to 25% (which is huge) but never 40%!
How can any club ask for a sell on clause of 40%, when:
a) They werent playing the player
b) The buying club did play, and continue to develop the player
c) The loan deal would surely have included a fee for the loan (probably in the millions)
d) Arsenal received good money for a player not even making the bench!
If Wenger pulled off a 40% buy on clause then he's even more of a genius than I already think he is.
Going by his recent selling prices though, unless it comes out as fact, I'll struggle to believe this news.
If it was a Scotty wind up then gg me and fk my life.

I'm fairly sure it won't be 40% but could be as high as 25%.
And Arsenal certainly don't deserve 50%.

A recent example is Darren Bent. Ipswich put a 15.75% sell on clause into his contract at Charlton. They picked up £2.6 million for him going to Spurs. This was a player playing regularly and scoring goals for fun, who was younger than Bentley and, at the time at least, a brighter prospect for his age.
In comparison 25% would be very, very high considering the Bentley's circumstances at the time he left Arsenal.

Arsenal forum seems to suggest 35% or a £4.25m cap. Respected poster, club connections.
A good signing in Bischoff for us today as well, another for the future though - please buy a CB Mr Wenger and one for today, not 3 years time.

Yeah, more believable with the cap.
Bischoff will play Nak. His agent let slip a while back that Wenger has told him he'll be in the first team from the off.
What you'd give for another Sol Campbell right now though eh?

Forest just signed a player from Carlisle for £1.14M, pretty sure BRFC get 50% of it from a sell on clause so 40% for Bentley not impossible?

No not impossible at all. I was just having an educated guess having never heard of such a figure. Plus 40% just sounds unreasonable to me. Especially with the money in the EPL.
I'll just sit here being wrong and amazed!

Hope Bischoff gets a trot Sat or Sunday, will be good to see him.
The Campbell we bought agreed - that don't grow on trees, and Spurs medical team ruined King before we could buy him

Keane is a perfect example of the new fitness regime at spurs, he has been a much better player with a few pounds off his gut ... he WILL be missed at spurs !
He will not be missed.
Top scorer in the year, on the field captain/may as well be club captain = not missed! Come on! Your banking on completely unproven players to take over his workload. I hope for Tottenham's sake they do let Berbatov go too. 30m to reinvest or a proven sulky player being in a season long sulk!!
What you spending your winnings on Mond?!!
Keane is a good player don't get me wrong, but he will not be missed imo.
Before Berbatov came, it looked like that Keane would be sold as Defoe was the main man, we would have been lucky to get £10million for Keane then. Berbatov arrival has coincided with Keane becoming the player he was with Berbatov partnering him up front.
I think Berbatov will be going. I am truly gutted about this, but it isn't like a bolt out of the blue.

Only reading between the lines but the Blackburn bloke didn't want to talk about any percentage owed to Arsenal which makes me think it's not as large as has been mentioned.
If it was 40% he would come out and say they owe Arsenal alot and thats why they won't be spending all the money and why they won't be getting ripped off.
I think it's lower and he doesn't want to say as he still doesn't want to get ripped off so if teams think they've only got £10mil to spend rather than £15 it could work in their favour.
Only a guess and at 2am it hasn't been thought out for too long so the opposite could be true!
