Hi guys/gals,

I need some help/advice/guidance.

I would like to get into poker on a full time basis but NOT on a playing basis. Is there any way of doing this. Im currently a Sales manager and can sell sand to a arab (no offence meant).

I am a decent writer and in all fairness would consider any ideas you guys may have.

HELP

I had an idea a while ago for a poker union. When people have trouble with sites - loss of money, connection probs - its always you against the machine.(betfair,Will Hill etc)

I had an idea about forming a company that would fight claims for you and get fair treatment for all players.

Any ideas on this or is it a naff idea

Fight claims? There is no legal recourse on disconections etc.

I would never rubbish anyones ideas. I would always advocate carrying out extensive research before embarking on any project (always advocate it don't always do it!).

I don't think all are like that. I deal with lots of support mails in my job - a lot of the time the message that you send determine the outcome of your request.

I spend a fair bit of my time trying to understand what it is people want me to do from their attempt to communicate their needs to me.

In the vast majority of times I have had cause to contact a poker CS department, they have been very good - but I make sure I exaplain the issue really well and give as much info as possible.

Not saying you don't but I think that that is a problem in a lot of cases Smiley

Yes possibly but my best friend had a huge situation on will hill which he complained about

there were 2 of us watching him play high stakes omaha

There was roughly 500 bucks in the middle preflop i think if i remember correctly

the flop was 3 clubs and he had the ace and another club - He had flopped the nuts

Someone bet the pot, and he couldnt bet because the site froze

He emailed them and they accepted there was a problem at that exact time there end, so remembering there was now 1000 in the middle, and he had put roughly 200 in the middle already.

Do you know what they refunded him due to there software issue - 100 bucks

How can this be right

Not saying it's right, in fact I expect your friend was very peeved about it, but software freezing isn't solely down to the software in a lot of cases - sometimes the pc has a hand in it as well Smiley

I'm just being Devil's Advocate here Smiley

Of course HEid, I understand that - all i meant was they accept the error was down to them, but dont refund the full amount. That is basically theft in my opinion

just a point also re this idea - you'd be making yourself an enemy of the poker rooms.  You'd be better off doing something that they would approve of

not sure what though

It's probably something in their T&C's ... When you go to the casino on Sat (Happy Birthday for then!), you'll see a little sign on each slot saying "malfunction voids all wins" or something along those lines, same process applies.

I'm not saying it is right, but it's how it is.

if you're good at sales and stuff alike, then why not organise your own poker room/tourneys?  Not sure what's about near you but where I am, there is nothing around.

It's something I wouldn't mind having a go of round here - not sure how to go about it but I'm pretty sure that in Bracknell (where I am) there is nothing near and that it could be a goer, especially if you start small.
