But why can i hold my breath longer now, than when i'm underwater?

because when you're underwater you're expending more energy - even if it's just on keeping yourself static underwater

Like I assume the original poster did, I also saw this on Richard and Judy the other day lol... I've just tried and managed 1minute - could have probably done a bit longer, but 1 minute seemed a nice figure to stop at. My brother can do 3mins apparently. Strewth!
