What sort of a team will play against Southampton on Friday?  Anything like full strength?

Would imagine most first team players will make an appearance as its our first pre season game.

I agree with the Bandit - think it'll be the majority of the first team squad, first half at least.

It's a testimonial right, but I read somewhere Celtic only agreed to play if it was a competitive game for professionals only.

I appear to have bet on this game, although I don't remember placing the wager.  Possibly I was under the influence or had eaten some poorly cooked sausages.   Either way, I hope Celtic do take this game very very seriously indeed.  Very seriously.

We've been shite in pre-season for a few years now. The game's on Setanta AFAIK if we get an early goal I'd be laying quick to cover your bet.

If we play a good English team at their home it's very different from Portsmouth/Southampton/Fulham/QPR - we've at least drawn with all them in the last few years as I remember.

As a Rangers fan I'm reluctant to bet on Celtic at the best of times but in a pre-season game I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. They may well rule the SPL at present but there are few teams who have done as badly as Celtic in pre-season friendlies in recent years. It's just a shame that the never seem to carry their pre-season form into the league season.
