Marc Goodwin has been throwing his chip weight around. He raised to 6k preflop twice in a row, and the second time he found a caller in HWCBN in the big blind. Mr CBN also check-called 10k from Marc on the flop, but laid down up when Marc made it 30k on the turn. Mr Goodwin showed .

Refusing to be bullied, although still in a very passive sort of way, HWCBN in the small blind called an utg raise to 4.5k from Richard Berridge. They both checked the flop, and HWCBN checked the turn too, and then called 5k from Berridge. HWCBN was happy to check the river too, and when Berridge bet 10k, he considered it for some time before calling. With . And it was good. A slightly sheepish Berridge mucked.

Berridge, now heading towards that 'oh dear, where have all my chips gone?' sort of region, is not letting up the aggression. He raises to 6k preflop - and Richard Stanley promptly goes all in to his left. It folds around and Berridge promptly calls.

Stanley:
Berridge:

Giggling.

Board: three diamonds - choppity chop.

Stanley: "You call my jacks? Unbelievable. I might have had queens!"

Neil Giblin is OUT and becomes the 9th place finisher winning £1,185

A simple affair really. Neil pushed with on the button and Marc Goodwin called with from the big blind. board favoured Mr Cool, and jakally was gone.

Eight remain and, as you can see, Marc is over the moon.

Three hands in a row, Andrew Greekfish pushed all in and took down the blinds uncontested.

Each time he showed: A-x, J-Ts, J-9o

He now boasts a tall tower of chips that is he is fondling in a worryingly phallic manner.

Shahnawaz Randera raised to 7,500 from the button and Marc Goodwin called from the big. Both players checked the flop, only for Marc to bet out 20,000 on the turn. Randera called. A on the river and Marc bet out again, this time to the tune of 45,000. After much deliberation, Randera made the call and showed . Marc mucked.

Marc Goodwin is now down to 109,000.

Marc Goodwin picked up a few chips, button-raising to 7.5k and getting himself called by Chris Bruce in the big blind.

They both checked the Two Clubs Two Diamonds flop and turn. Chris checked the river and then called a 14k bet from Marc. Marc nonchalantly turned over and Brucie mucked.

After an extended period of assorted players raising in late position, getting no callers and then showing an ace of some sort, a moment of excitement. Chris Bruce raised to 6.5k utg and Richard Berridge to his immediate left called. HWCBN, however, made it 36k total. It folded around to Bruce, who very tantalisingly asked for a count on HWCBN (30k behind) but then folded. So did Berridge.

Stacks after that -

Berridge: 124k
Brucie: 165k
HWCBN: 83k

First hand back off the break, Marc Goodwin raises to 7,000 from early position only for Jon Omara to push all in for a total of 65,900 just one seat down. Surprisingly, the action halted at HWCBN across the other side of the table, and a chip count was requested. After a few huffs and puffs, HWCBN folded, as did the original raiser. As Jon scooped the pot, HWCBN claimed to have folded pocket queens.

Here is the moment where he was awarded the pot, a perfect example of how players tend to check their cards before scooping. Why do they do that?
