We have more Golds than expected but what about medals?
We were aiming for 41 are we going to get there?
I know we have triple jump and madison that we're likely to gold in + a probable medal in the boxing. Where are the others coming from?
No criticism just want to know what i should watch out for.

...if silver and bronze medals were more important than golds, yes.

Good question.

We have a gold coming in the sailing (proberly).
Gold and silver in the mens sprint cycling.
Gold in the womens sprint cycling.
Madison - one medal?
Triple jump - gold?
Women's 400m - medal in that?
Possibly one medal from the 1500m, 400m, 4x400m?
Boxing medal?
Horsey stuff - another medal?

That's another 10 medals.

That still puts us 4 short of the 41 target.   So we'd have to find them somewhere else?

We might get a medal in the BMX and we should get a medal in the women's 10,000 metre swim

Golds worth 3 x silver and 5 x bronze.
So IMHO Team GB are going in the right direction.

Based on population though - still a long way behind the Australian ratio.

I think its unfairfor the sprinters going up against Bolt.  He was jogging for the last 50 metres and the others were flat out and they still couldn't catch him.  Sooooooooo  not fair.

Nope, just GB.

NI athletes can choose whether to compete for GB or ROI, depending on their background.

I thought the team was Great Britain and Northern Ireland (so really the UK) in the Olympics?

Yeah AndrewT is right, if you are born in NI you get a choice who to compete for.

The aussies are just about the only nation, who are outperforming us in that category. We are ahead of Germany, Russia, Italy, Spain, France etc. The Aussies are easily the best sporting nation in the world per head imo.

They have to phrase it like that, because if it was the UK team, then NI people wouldn't be able to represent the Republic, effectively barring NI Catholics from taking part.
